Group Project: Women Safety Campaign

We, Group 2 choose to do a program about Women Safety CampaignThe reason why we decided to do this campaign is that every day, women in Malaysia are shocked by the news of women experiencing harassment around them that makes them feel unsafe and insecure.


The women’s safety campaign is a campaign that was conducted online using the Instagram platform because we believe that by using this platform which has around 13,563,000 is able to spread the message we want to spread which is about safety tips and news regarding this issue. 


There are around 37 participants that have participated in our campaign which consists of the IIUM community as well as the non-IIUM community. Most of the participants are women in their early 20s to mid-20s. Besides that, there are several male participants who participated in this campaign. 


This program has achieved its objective which is to spread awareness regarding women's safety. It ran smoothly where all subtopics proposed were successfully delivered throughout the campaign. For this campaign, an informative poster and caption for each subtopic were created and posted on Instagram.

PROGRAM ACHIEVEMENT 

1. All members cooperated well for this campaign. 

2. A lot of involvement. 

3. Events run smoothly. 

4. Received followers even on the last day of the campaign. 

5. Getting positive support from friends to participate. 


This is our timeline of the project that is depicted using Gant Chart.



However, there are few shortcomings of this campaign. Firstly, the campaign does not have a large number of followers on Instagram. Since the campaign is conducted online, it is a bit difficult for us to encourage people to follow our Instagram account.


Secondly, lack of time for; a short period of the campaign promotion. Because of the limited time that we have, we are not able to promote the campaign longer so we can reach a big number of followers. There are only a few people that were willing to follow and promote this campaign due to some people not being aware of the importance of this topic.


Furthermore, lack of time also causes difficulty in promoting the campaign maximally. For instance, we are not able to promote the campaign by conducting Instagram live or spreading the posters physically such as by sharing posters with students on campus, etc.


Lastly, there was a lack of engagement with followers on Instagram. During the campaign period, we received lots of likes from the followers, but not with comments. However, regardless of all these shortcomings, it can be said that this campaign will continue to develop in the future and reach more people so they can be more aware about this topic. 


SWOT Analysis stands for strength, weakness, opportunity and threat. After we had completed our program, we identified some of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that occurred throughout the program. 




To summarize this campaign, it can be observed that the campaign works smoothly within the allotted period despite the shortage of time to carry it out. Each member of the group completed their assigned responsibilities during the campaign, as previously agreed. Everyone puts out their best effort to ensure the campaign's success. Even if the number of participants is not as high as we expected, their engagement is significant, and we are glad that they have taken the initiative to support our campaign. Last but not least, we appreciate everyone who has taken part in this campaign, and we hope that the information we have shared will benefit and assist them in the future.
