Parenting In Islam

On 4th December 2021, my groupmates and I had made a presentation regarding Parenting In Islam. Below is the poster that we made to simplify our content from the presentation. 

We decide to choose this topic because we realized how important is the role of parents in sculpting the good behavior in their children. 

According to the poster, there are three parenting style that we extracted from an article. There are authoritative parenting, authoritarian parenting and permissive parenting. Authoritative parenting refers to the parents who are care about the needs of their children while setting a proper boundaries to them. While authoritarian parenting refers to the parents who are being less responsive to their children while setting a strict boundaries to them. Permissive parenting refers to the parents who let their children do whatever they want. According to this three parenting style, authoritative is the most preferred parenting style as the parents in this style are being nurturing and responsive to their children. 

Islam also emphasize the importance of parents in family. From Islamic point of view, a child is bestowed upon his or her parents from Allah the Almighty as a trust or amanah. With this trust, comes responsibility. One of the responsibility mentioned in the poster is to teach their children to do the good. This poster also explained about how parents supposed to do to upbringing their child. 

To further share the benefits of the poster, I also shared the poster on my social media account. I decided to share the poster on my Facebook because most of my friends list in the Facebook are parents. So I think by sharing this to them, they can upgrade their parenting style in the future.
