Self-Reflection 3
This
essay was made as a reflection from the video namely “A Really Hard Test
(Friday Sermon)”. The video was explained by Nouman Ali Khan. Overall, this
video provides a guideline for me on how to deal with my problems from Islamic
perspectives. It a relief for me when I watched this video because it helps me
to change the way I treat the problems in life.
Every
difficulty comes by permission of Allah. Therefore, we cannot just simply jump
into conclusion and being angry at Allah for all the problems that He bestowed.
There must be a wisdom behind all the problems. In order to deal with the
problems, we must make an analysis first before proceeding to the next step. We
must find the sources of the problem first so that we can know how to fix it
from the core. By doing this, we can solve our problems effectively and
rationally.
Next,
it is advised by the lecturer in the video that we must restore our Imaan when
dealing with a test. Our Imaan sometimes can be less and more. Therefore, it is
essential for us to revive back our Imaan. We can restore our Imaan by reciting
the holy book, Al Quran. Al Quran is effective in navigate your heart. It
provides a holistic solution for us to solve our problems.
The
video also teaches me to stay calm when facing a problem. I must avoid being in
the state of anger because that will cause a distraction for me to think
rationally. When we are being mad, we tend to see the worst in people. That is
why it is important to seek forgiveness from Allah SWT with istighfar. Istighfar
helps us to stay calm because it reminds us that we are only the sinner in the
world and not a perfect human being.
In
conclusion, we must face our problems rationally and calmly. We must also
remember that Allah will not test us beyond our capability. When we are having
a problem, it means that we are the chosen one. Allah choose us because He
knows that we are strong enough to face it.
