This essay was made to reflect the khutbah video namely “How Duaa Works” by Nouman Ali Khan. The khutbah was inspired by the story of Maryam who has been bestowed with a child while she is still a virgin. No matter how much she make duaa to Allah, this could not prevent anything to happen because Allah has said so. Maryam prayed for her death since she does not want to bear the humiliation from the community. Little did she know that the test Allah has put on her is the greatest blessing from Allah. The children that she carried are an honor to her. This inspiring story has taught me that sometimes the things that we do not like are the best for us. It is because we never know the wisdom behind every test until we face it.


What I can conclude from the video is every human being makes dua. No matter how high the status of someone, they still make duaa and pray to the Al-Mighty Allah. By making duaa, we are hoping Allah will solve our problems. Either your duaa being answered immediately or not immediately has nothing to do with whether Allah is happy for you or not.  That is why we need to understand the reality of dua. Dua means literally to call, to demand something. It is an act of communication between you and Allah that increases your trust, faith and reliance upon him. The more we pray to Allah, the higher our dependency on Allah SWT. This video also taught me to put our full reliance on Allah because He knows what is best for us.

My Plan After Graduating

During the first class of Usrah Budi 4 Section 208, Sister Jannah ask us about what we are planning to do after we graduate from IIUM. So here are my planning: I want to find a job. One of my dream when I pursue my study here in IIUM is to find a stable job that can help me and my parents. I want to repay all the sacrifices done by both of my parents. They are working too hard to get me into the university to study. So, this is the time for me to return the favor. I also want to find a short course to supplement my knowledge when working. I believe that learning process don't end once I graduate. As long as I am breathing in this world, I want to keep learning new things to be better day by day. My ambition is to be a data analyst. Therefore, I would like to learn more programming languages as that is one of the requirement to be a data analyst.
